Grade 2
  • Hymn to Our Heroes is dedicated to all those people in our lives who are heroes, not just the famous ones.
    It is a slow sustained piece in comfortable registers for young players.  It will aid in teaching the use of air
    for tone quality, balance, and tuning.  Try this as a festival warm-up selection.

  • Choral-O Sacred Head Surround Thee-J.S. Bach-contains two stanzas of this beautiful hymn that serves
as a wonderful warm-up selection for any concert or festival

Grade 2.5
  • How Lovely Is thy Dwelling Place by Johannes Brahms  is a transcription of this classical vocal setting
    from the German  Requiem. ;This choral masterpiece will delight your audiences and provide students with
    an understanding of the wondrous harmonies from one of the all-time favorite classical geniuses.

Grade 3
  • Sonata in F minor - Movements 1 and 4- by George Philip Telemann is a D minor arrangement for full
    band that uses the themes and harmonies from the original sonata for solo flute. The two contrasting
    movements make this a challenging yet solid grade 3 work for advanced middle school and younger high
    school bands.

  • Dr. King's Favorite Spirituals-is a collection of gospel melodies associated with Dr. King. Pass out the
    parts just before the winter break and challenge students to learn their parts in time for the national holiday
    on January 15th.

  • Piano Sonata No.8, Movement 2., Sonata Pathetique is arranged here for young bands.  This ever
    popular melody will remain as one of your student's favorites.

  • Appomattax 1865 is a patriotic arrangement of favorite Civil War songs to commemorate one of the most
    difficult periods in American History.  Students may be somewhat familiar with the selections: Aura Lee,  
    Battle Cry of Freedom, Tenting Tonight, and Just Before The Battle Mother. The scoring is for a middle
    school band but will prove valuable as a "quick study" for patriotic performance needs for any level.

  • Chanukah Medley for Band.  This contains Maoz Tzur, Oseh Shalom, Svivon,Mi Yamaiel, Chanukah,
      and My Dreydl.  This will be perfrect and add balance to our holiday concert. Now available through

  • Happy Birthday Theme and Variations is a novelty arrangement that uses famous classical themes worked
    around this holiday favorite.  It is in production with Carl Fisher Educational Publications.

Grade 4
  • Tuba Mirum and Agnus Dei Fugue from The Requiem-W.A. Mozart-is an adaptation of the original
    choral work using the full band sonorities.  The fugue has some challenging technical and rhythmic aspects
    that students will find particularly interesting.
